When I was a little girl, I wanted to be President, then I wanted to be an interior designer and then I wanted to be a food technologist but more than anything, I wanted to be a rapper.

I promise you, this is not going to be about all the times I wanted to be MC Lyte or Eve or the next Missy Elliot but it is about how I fell in love with words. I used to freestyle, which turned into writing lyrics for songs, which then became

poems, which evolved into this deep love and appreciation for reading and writing.

However, through the years, the reading part pretty much fell away all thanks to depression, but the writing stayed with me until I took a giant leap of faith and published my books ‘Church' and 'Memories of His Bathroom Floor' years later.

Words have helped me heal and I hope that through my healing, you may be healed too.
